Using the Predefined Trusted Updater in Trend Micro Safe Lock

The Predefined Trusted Updater list provides an easy way to make changes to the endpoint. It can automatically add new or modified files to the Approved List without having to unlock the Trend Micro Safe Lock.

To use the Predefined Trusted Updater:

  1. Add files or folders to the Predefined Trusted Updater using the command below:
    SLCmd.exe -p <admin_password> add predefinedtrustedupdater -u <folder_or_file> -t <type_of_object> [<optional_values>]
  2. View the Predefined Trusted Updater list by executing this command:
    SLCmd.exe show ptu
  3. Enable the Predefined Trusted Updater by running the command below:
    SLCmd.exe set ptu enable

Where:

  • <admin_password> = Safe Lock agent password
  • <folder_or_file> = File or folder to be added in the Predefined Trusted Updater list
  • <type_of_object> = Type of object to be added in the Predefined Trusted Updater list located in <folder_or_files>

Optional values are as follows:

  • -p <parent_process> = Parent process used to invoke the file(s)
  • -l <label> = Label name for the file(s) in the <folder>
  • -al <enable/disable> = Either enable or disable the checking whether the parent process is in Approved List
