Summary
During the process of adding devices to the Security Management System (SMS) the SMS generates a "java.net.SocketException: Socket closed" error.
Details
Public

Explanation:

This error is usually caused by a date/time mismatch between the Security Management System (SMS) and the device being added to the SMS. The SMS date/time (accounting for time zones) has to match the device date/time ± 1 minute.

Resolution:

If the system date/time are off, change the date/time on the offending device. Be aware that changing the date/time on the SMS by more that one minute will require an SMS reboot.
