Managing Digital Vaccine Toolkit Packages on the SMS!

Summary
Digital Vaccine Toolkit is an optional Trend Micro TippingPoint application that lets you write custom filters for use on IPS and SMS devices. Custom filters are saved into package files, imported into the SMS and activated. The Digital Vaccine Toolkit (DV Toolkit) packages must then be distributed to devices.

How To: Common Task

  1. Log in to the SMS from a client.
  2. From the top navigation pane, click Profiles. The Profiles screen displays.
  3. Select the DV Toolkit Packages tab. The DV Toolkit Packages screen displays.


How To: Import a DV Toolkit Package

  1. Do one of the following:
    • In the DV Toolkit Package Inventory section, click Import.
    • On the Menu Bar, select the File->Import->DV Toolkit Packages menu item.
    • Right-click on an entry and click Import.
  2. Browse to the DV Toolkit file location and select the file to import.
  3. Click OK. The file imports and displays in the DV Toolkit Package Inventory section and DV Toolkit Packages Navigation pane. You can now manage, view details, distribute, and remove the package.


How To: Delete a DV Toolkit Package

  1. In the DV Toolkit Package Inventory section;
    • Select a package and click Delete.
    • Select a package and on the Menu Bar; select the Edit -> Delete.
    • Select a package, right-click the entry and click Delete.
  2. A verification message displays. Click Yes.

Note: You cannot delete active packages. If you attempt to delete an active package, an error message displays.


How To: Activate/Deactivate a DV Toolkit Package

  1. To Activate the package (make the selected package the currently used package):
  2. In the DV Toolkit Package Inventory section;
    • Select a package and click Activate.
    • Select a package, click Details. On the displayed screen, click Activate.
    • Select a package, right-click the entry and click Activate.
  3. To Deactivate the package (remove the current active package from the SMS):
  4. In the DV Toolkit Package Inventory section;
    • Select a package and click Deactivate.
    • Select a package, click Details. On the displayed screen, click Deactivate.
    • Select a package, right-click the entry and click Deactivate.


How To: View Details of a DV Toolkit Package

  1. In the DV Toolkit Package Inventory section;
    • Select a package and click Details.
    • Select a package, right-click the entry and click Details.
    • Select a package and on the Menu Bar, select the Edit -> Details.
  2. Double-click the package to view the details.


How To: Uninstall a DV Toolkit Package

  1. In the DV Toolkit Package Inventory section select a package.
  2. Click Uninstall. The package uninstalls filters associated with the selected DV Toolkit package. When you distribute profiles, the uninstalled filters are removed from the devices.


How To: Distribute a DV Toolkit Packages

  1. In the DV Toolkit Package Inventory section;
    • Select a package and click Distribute.
    • Select a package, right-click the entry and click Distribute.
    • Select a package and on the Menu Bar, select the Edit -> Details and click Distribute.
    • Double-click the package to view the details and click Distribute
  2. The package distributes. As it runs, an entry displays with updating status in the Distribution Progress section.

Note: DV Toolkit filters MUST be distributed. Activating the DV Toolkit package enables the package for distribution and does NOT enable the filters in the DV Toolkit package.
