How do I reset the IPS/TPS to Factory Default Settings?

WARNING: The device will reboot during this procedure and will interrupt traffic flow through the device. When the device finishes the process of resetting to factory defaults, it will need to be reconfigured using the Out of Box Experience (OBE) at the Serial Console. Be aware that the device will revert to the TOS originally shipped with the device.

In order to factory reset your device enter the following command at the CLI interface;

debug factory-reset

Once entered you will get the following warning.

WARNING!!!
This command WILL reset this device to factory default configuration.
This will remove all network and security configuration, user accounts log files, snapshots and applied software upgrades.
You will NOT be able to recover any of this data from the device after this command has been confirmed.
After the factory reset completes, the device will automatically reboot and display the OBE.
Warning: Type the word 'COMMIT' to continue: COMMIT

Type the word "COMMIT" to continue: COMMIT

Once "COMMIT" is entered the system will commence to perform the factory reset.
