Summary: Trend Micro TippingPoint is announcing the end-of-support (EOS) / end-of-life (EOL) dates for the following products:
  • Security Management System (SMS) v4.5, v4.6 and v5.0.0
  • Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) v3.8.4
  • Threat Protection System (TPS) v5.0.0
Release to Manufacturing

SMS software installed during the manufacturing of SMS hardware appliances will be updated with the recommended software versions listed in the table below for the appropriate SMS hardware appliance. This is for both newly purchased SMS hardware appliances as well as RMA replacement systems. Due to a software issue as described in Product Bulletin #1078, this change is being made immediately and effective as of the date of this bulletin.

IPS v3.9.3 and TPS v5.1.0 will be released to manufacturing for both newly purchased hardware appliances as well as RMA replacement systems on February 28, 2019.

SMS Product Migration Options
SMS Appliance Recommended Software
SMS v2 hardware appliances running on the HP Generation 6 hardware platform.

To determine the hardware version of your SMS device, run the following CLI command:

    SMS=> get sys.platform
    System platform (sys.platform) = hp-dl320g6

SMS v5.0.1
vSMS deployments running with less than the following requirements:
  • 300 GB virtual disk size
  • 2 virtual CPUs
  • 2.27 GHz CPU speed
  • 12 GB memory
  • 2 virtual network adapters
SMS v5.0.1
All other SMS hardware and virtual appliancesSMS v5.1.0
 
SMS v5.0.0 Customers
Trend Micro TippingPoint recommends that customers running SMS v5.0.0 upgrade to SMS v5.0.1 or higher at the earliest opportunity in order to avoid critical issues related to filter overrides. See Product Bulletin #1078 for more information.
