Vulnerability Details

This update resolves some vulnerabilities in Trend Micro Control Manager in which a remote attacker could potentially attain code execution.

These include:

  • SQL Injection Remote Code Execution in the Dashboard, Ad Hoc Query and Scheduled Download
  • Control Manager displays Information Disclosure vulnerabilities on the Dashboard and Error Pages.

Please note that authentication with an administrator password is required to exploit these vulnerabilities.

Mitigating Factors

Remote code execution generally requires that an attack has access (physical or remote) to a vulnerable machine. In addition to timely application of patches and updated solutions, customers are also advised to review access to critical systems and ensure policies and perimeter security is up-to-date.

However, even though an exploit may require several specific conditions to be met, Trend Micro strongly encourages customers to update to the latest builds as soon as possible.
