To configure the Update Agent and the range of clients/servers:
- Specify an agent to act as an Update Agent.
- Log in to the WFBS console.
- Click Update > Source.
- Go to the Security Agents tab > Assign Update Agent(s) > Add.
- From the Select Security Agents list box, select one or more agents to act as Update Agents.
- Click Save.
Unless specified in the Alternative Update Source section, all Update Agents receive their updates from the Trend Micro Security Server.
- Select an Alternative Update Source.
- From the Security Agents tab on the Source page, update the following options as required:
- Enable Alternative Update Sources
- Always update from Security Server for Update Agents: This is an optional step to ensure agents receive their updates only from the Security Server.
If this option is selected, the Update Agents will download updates from the Trend Micro Security Server even if their IP address falls within one of the ranges specified in the Add an Alternative Update Source page. For this option to work, Enable Alternative Update Sources must be selected.
- Click Save.
- From the Security Agents tab on the Source page, update the following options as required:
- Set an Update Agent as a Client Update Source.
- From the Security Agents tab on the Alternative Update Sources page, click Add in the Alternative Update Sources section.
- Update the following as required:
- IP from and IP to fields: Clients with IP addresses within this range will receive their updates from the specified update source.
To specify a single Client/Server Security Agent, enter the Client/Server Security Agent’s IP address in both the IP from and IP to fields.
- Update Source
- Update Agent
If the dropdown list is not available, no Update Agents have been configured.
- Specified: The path to an Update Agent or an ActiveUpdate server.
- IP from and IP to fields: Clients with IP addresses within this range will receive their updates from the specified update source.
- Click Save.
To remove an alternative update source, select the checkbox corresponding to the IP Range and click Remove.
CSAs that are not specified will automatically receive updates from the Trend Micro Security Server.
