To modify the default client/agent installation path:

  1. On the Officescan/Apex One server, open the ..\PCCSRV\ofcscan.ini file using a Text editor.
  2. Look for the following section:

    [INI_CLIENT_INSTALLPATH_SECTION]
    WinNT_InstallPath=$ProgramFiles\Trend Micro\OfficeScan Client

  3. Edit the path to reflect the new path for the OfficeScan/Apex One client installation.

    For example, if you want OfficeScan to be installed on drive D:, the line should look like the following:

    [INI_CLIENT_INSTALLPATH_SECTION]
    WinNT_InstallPath=D:\OfficeScan Client

     
    Do not modify the following section in the ofcscan.ini file:

    [INI_CLIENT_DEFAULT_INSTALLPATH_SECTION]
    WinNT_InstallPath=$ProgramFiles\Trend Micro\OfficeScan Client

    If a target machine does not have the drive letter specified in the parameter under [INI_CLIENT_INSTALLPATH_SECTION], the installer will try to use the path under [INI_CLIENT_DEFAULT_INSTALLPATH_SECTION].
    If the drive letter in [INI_CLIENT_DEFAULT_INSTALLPATH_SECTION] is also unavailable, then the client/agent installation will fail.

    There is another line that points to the OfficeScan client directory. You do not need to change the $ symbol under the [ICRC setting section] (seen below) section to the target directory.

    ICRC pattern directory=$ProgramFiles\Trend Micro\OfficeScan Client\iCRC\Pattern
    ICRC temporary directory=$ProgramFiles\Trend Micro\OfficeScan Client\iCRC\Tmp

  4. Save and close the file.

The OfficeScan/Apex One client/agent software will be installed in the same directory on each client/agent. The default path is $Program Files\Trend Micro\OfficeScan Client. You may change the client/agent installation path after installing the OfficeScan/Apex One server and before installing the OfficeScan/Apex One clients/agents. Changing the installation path after the clients/agents have been installed will require you to reinstall them.
