To resolve this issue, please do the following on the Information Server:

  1. Close the management console.
  2. Open the Registry Editor.

Always back up the whole registry before making any modifications. Incorrect changes to the registry can cause serious system problems.
  3. Go to HKLM\Software\TrendMicro\ServerProtect\CurrentVersion\ShareSP
  4. Delete the ED, EN, and EP strings but retain the (Default) string.
  5. Close the Registry Editor.
  6. Go to the \Trend\SProtect\ directory and then run the SetUserInfo tool (SetUserInfo.exe).
  7. Specify the local administrator account with its password.

This step is vital in resolving this issue. This is with the assumption that you installed the Information Server using the local administrator account. Otherwise, be sure to use the account that you used to install the Information Server on the machine.
  8. Perform a back up again.

Note: In the back up dialog, you need to provide credential that has right to the shared folder.

For 64-bit installation, go to the following registry hive:

HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\TrendMicro\ServerProtect\CurrentVersion\ShareSP
