To show an IP-registered Normal Server with the hostname in the ServerProtect management console, do the following:
- Create a back up of the ServerProtect registry, i.e:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\TrendMicro\ServerProtect
Always back up the whole registry before making any modifications. Incorrect changes to the registry can cause serious system problems. - Stop the earthagent service.
- Assuming you have the following Normal Server entries using IP in the following registry hives:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\TrendMicro\
ServerProtect\CurrentVersion\InformationServer\<Information Server name> 192.168.0.10-0 - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\TrendMicro\
ServerProtect\CurrentVersion\RPC 192.168.0.10
- Delete the entries 192.168.0.10-0 and 192.168.0.10 respectively.
- Start the earth agent service.
- Add the Normal Servers using Add Normal Server and type the hostname of the Normal Server (in the example above, the name of 192.168.0.10).
- Verify the corresponding entries in the registry:
