To show an IP-registered Normal Server with the hostname in the ServerProtect management console, do the following:

Make sure that the communication and name resolution between the Information and Normal Servers is working properly before doing this procedure.
  1. Create a back up of the ServerProtect registry, i.e:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\TrendMicro\ServerProtect

Always back up the whole registry before making any modifications. Incorrect changes to the registry can cause serious system problems.
  2. Stop the earthagent service.
  3. Assuming you have the following Normal Server entries using IP in the following registry hives:
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\TrendMicro\
      ServerProtect\CurrentVersion\InformationServer\<Information Server name> 192.168.0.10-0
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\TrendMicro\
      ServerProtect\CurrentVersion\RPC 192.168.0.10
    1. Delete the entries 192.168.0.10-0 and 192.168.0.10 respectively.
    2. Start the earth agent service.
    3. Add the Normal Servers using Add Normal Server and type the hostname of the Normal Server (in the example above, the name of 192.168.0.10).
    4. Verify the corresponding entries in the registry:
      • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\TrendMicro\
        ServerProtect\CurrentVersion\InformationServer\<Information Server name>\<hostname of 192.168.0.10>
      • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\TrendMicro\
        ServerProtect\CurrentVersion\RPC<hostname of 192.168.0.10>
