To resolve the issue:

  1. Open the Internet Information Services (IIS) 7 Manager.
  2. Right-click the SMEX website, and then select Edit Permissions.
  3. Click the Security tab, and then click Edit.
  4. Click Add.
  5. Click Locations, select the local computer, and then click OK.
  6. Type "IIS_IUSRS" in the box, and then click Check Names.
  7. Once the user name has been validated, click OK.
  8. Make sure the newly added group has the following privileges:
    • Read & execute
    • List folder contents
    • Read
  9. Click OK.
  10. Open the WFBS console and try to configure the MSA again.

If the issue still occurs:
