This issue happens because libMRF_Common.dll is still loaded even if the patch installer has tried to stop all the related services.

To resolve this issue:

  1. Manually stop the following services:
    • Trend Micro ServerProtect
    • Trend Micro ServerProtect Agent
    • Trend Micro Management Infrastructure
  2. Verify if libMRF_Common.dll is still loaded.
     
    This can be done, for example, by using the process explorer from Sysinternal Tools from Microsoft.
    1. Run Process Explorer.
    2. Click Find > Handle or DLL.
    3. Enter libMRF_Common.dll.
    4. If you find a process still loading it, try to kill the process.
  3. Run the patch installer again.
