If issues are encountered while updating the Messaging Security Agent (MSA), the following steps can be used to force the MSA to update its patterns and engines:

  1. Open C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Security Server\PCCSRV\Private\component.ini with a text editor (e.g. Notepad).
  2. Find the following entries and change their values to "0 0 0" as shown below:
    • For x86: [6041]Version=0 0 0
    • For x64: [6067]Version=0 0 0
  3. Save and close the file.
  4. Open C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Security Server\PCCSRV\Private\ofcserver.ini with a text editor (e.g. Notepad).
  5. Find the following and make sure that its value is "1".

    FirstTimeServiceLaunchDoUpdate=1

    NOTE:The default value is "1". If the value is not equal to "1", change its value to "1".

  6. Save and close the file.
  7. Run "services.msc" to open the Services console, search for "Trend Micro Security Server Master Service" and then restart it.
