If issues are encountered while updating the Messaging Security Agent (MSA), the following steps can be used to force the MSA to update its patterns and engines:
- Open C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Security Server\PCCSRV\Private\component.ini with a text editor (e.g. Notepad).
- Find the following entries and change their values to "0 0 0" as shown below:
- For x86: [6041]Version=0 0 0
- For x64: [6067]Version=0 0 0
- Save and close the file.
- Open C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Security Server\PCCSRV\Private\ofcserver.ini with a text editor (e.g. Notepad).
- Find the following and make sure that its value is "1".
FirstTimeServiceLaunchDoUpdate=1
NOTE:The default value is "1". If the value is not equal to "1", change its value to "1".
- Save and close the file.
- Run "services.msc" to open the Services console, search for "Trend Micro Security Server Master Service" and then restart it.
