The issue happens because of the following:
- Windows 8 UI applications require the User Account Control (UAC) to launch. UAC may not always disable completely when you turn it off using the Control Panel.
- Windows 8 can use any Microsoft Hotmail account to log in to the computer. However, remote installation will fail when you use a Microsoft hotmail account as login credentials to the remote computer.
As a workaround, do any the following:
- Open the Registry Editor.
- Locate the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\EnableLUA key.
- Change its value from "1" to "0" to completely disable the UAC.
- Restart the computer for the changes to take effect.
- After the computer restarts, remotely install again the WFBS agent.
If the problem persists, proceed to the next option.
Use either a local administrator or domain administrator account as login credentials on the Windows 8 computer.
