Summary

Files are sometimes created in different drive locations, including the user profile. These files can have different names and extensions. This happens if an application, not the user, tries to download a file that happens to be on a page that is blocked by WRS.

The application will instead download the notification from WRS as content of the file, instead of the one it was meant to download. This means that if you then rename the file with a .html extension and open it, you will see the notification from WRS, not the file it was meant to download.

These files are not created by OSCE, WFBS or Titanium but will appear on machines installed with these products. This is because an application tries to download a file from a URL that is blocked by WRS. Since the application does not know the difference, it will then download and display the WRS warning page as the content of the file.

The location, name and extension depends on:

The application that downloads the file and the name and extension.
The name and extension of the file that was meant to be downloaded.

In this example, three files were created under the user profile folder. When the files were renamed from .exe to .html, opening the files will lead to the following page:
