To set the log level:

  1. Run the DiagnosticsMonitor.exe file located in the Policy Server install directory.

     
    Windows may encounter an error titled Xenocode Postbuild 2010 at this point. The message text states that the application is unable to load a required virtual machine component. If this error occurs, open Windows Update, remove the update"KB3045999", and try to run the Diagnostic Monitor again.
     
  2. Go to File > Options....

  3. Under the Category section, select the category that you need to change the log level of.

  4. On the Minimum Level Displayed section, select Debug.

    Optional: Click the Apply to all Categories button to capture all processes in debug mode.
  5. On the Output Folder… field, specify the save path of the log. The default location is the Desktop and the file name format is:

    yyyy-mm-dd_time..psdm

  6. Click OK to save the changes.

    Click OK

  7. Replicate the issue. The logging will stop when you close the Diagnostic Monitor window.
