This error may occur due to the following:

• If the previous Security for Mac version cannot remove the SQL server information during the upgrade successfully
• If the previous Security for Mac version installation was corrupted. For example, the SQL database password cannot be decrypted successfully.

To resolve this issue:

1. Download and extract the removeTMSM.zip file.
2. Start a Command Prompt as Administrator.
3. Change path to the location of the tool.
4. Run the following command,

   PsExec.exe -s -i cmd.exe

   

5. In the new pop out cmd.exe window (PsExec change the priority of this new cmd.exe), run the following command,

   removeTMSM.bat

   

6. Install the Security for Mac server. You should now be able to successfully install the server.
