OfficeScan 11.0 does not use Java, ActiveX, nor Flash because it is HTML5-based.

However, there are still three (3) global SPN geo-maps which are Flash-based. These geo-maps might not be used often so you can remove it from the Dashboard Widget console. Trend Micro intends to remove these geo-maps from the default configuration of OSCE 11.0 SP1 and later versions.

To prove that Java and ActiveX do not exist in OSCE 11.0, do any of the following:

  • Go to command line and type "java -version".
  • Open IE and go to http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp to check if Java is installed.
  • Search in IE via Manage Add-ons to show that there is no ActiveX.
