Password Complexity Requirement

The following characters are valid for the password settings:

• Lowercase letters (a, b, c, ...)
• Uppercase letters (A, B, C, ...)
• Numerals (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9)
• Non-alphanumeric symbols (` ~ ! @ # $ % ^ & * - + = | \ { } [ ] ( ) : ; " ' < > , . ? / and space)

Any character combinations mentioned in the list above are valid for password.

Password Length Requirement

When you install the OfficeScan server and set the password for the first time, the maximum length is 24 characters. You will use this password for the following:

• Accessing the web console
• Unloading and unlocking OfficeScan agent
• Uninstalling OfficeScan agent
• Generating a new authentication certificate
• Importing an existing certificate

When you change the password in the web console, the maximum length is 128 characters.

You can set the password for web console access through the following procedure:

1. Open the OfficeScan web console.
2. Go to Administration > User Account.
3. Under User Information, change the password.

For uninstalling, unloading, and unlocking OfficeScan agent, you can set the password through the procedure below:

1. Open the OfficeScan web console.
2. Go to Agent > Agent Management.
3. Click Settings.
4. Under Privileges and Other Settings, change the password.
