To resolve the issue:
- Go to the IWSVA web management console.
- Go to Administration > IWSVA Configuration > Scan Method.
- Select Smart Scan With Local SPS.

The error message "Smart Protection Server unavaliable, please choose conventional scan" appears when trying to connect the IWSVA server to a SPS.
