Below are some options for recovering a server with a corrupted ofcserver.ini file:

Option I

Recover the ofcserver.ini file from your most recent backup.

Option II

Recover ofcserver.ini from a backup made during an upgrade deployment:

  1. Search for the location of the most recent ofcserver.ini file using the following command:

    \PCCSRV\Backup

  2. Stop the OfficeScan Master Service.
  3. Copy ofcserver.ini from the backup folder to \PCCSRV\Private. In this example, the backup copy is located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Trend Micro\OfficeScan\PCCSRV\Backup\CP_4150\Private\ofcserver.ini.
  4. Restart the OfficeScan Master Service.

The console access should now be restored. If not, recreate the OSCE virtual directories of the IIS by following the instructions in the following KB: Recreating Virtual Directory for OfficeScan (OSCE).

If the database configuration has changed between the most recent version and the backup version of ofcserver.ini (e.g. the backup ofcserver.ini is configured to HTTPDB as the database), but the most current configuration was to use SQL, use the sqltxfer.exe tool to point the server back to the SQL database.

Option III

Install a replica of the OSCE server using the same settings (i.e. IP address/FQDN) and copy ofcserver.ini from the new replica server to the original server.

Option IV

Carry out the disaster recovery procedure for your OSCE server (fresh installation) by following the steps in this article: Files to back up before upgrading, migrating, or uninstalling the OfficeScan server.
