Exporting policies from the old DSM
- Log in to the old Deep Security Manager console.
- Click Policies > Policies.
- Select the first level policy, which should be the Base Policy.
- Click Export and then choose Export selected to XML (For Import). You will get the exported Policy.xml file.
- Perform the same action to export the following:
- Policies > Common Objects > Rules > Firewall Rules
- Policies > Common Objects > Rules > Intrusion Prevention Rules
- Policies > Common Objects > Rules > Integrity Monitoring Rules
- Policies > Common Objects > Rules > Log Inspection Rules
- Policies > Common Objects > Lists > Directory Lists
- Policies > Common Objects > Lists > File Extension Lists
- Policies > Common Objects > Lists > File Lists
- Policies > Common Objects > Lists > IP Lists
- Policies > Common Objects > Lists > MAC Lists
- Policies > Common Objects > Lists > Port Lists
- Policies > Common Objects > Other > Contexts
- Policies > Common Objects > Other > Schedules
Importing policies to the new DSM
- Log in to Deep Security Manager console.
- Go to Policies > Policies.
- Right-click the Base Policy and choose Delete to remove the existing policies.
- Import the XML files in the following order:
- Import the Lists.
- Policies > Common Objects > Lists > Directory Lists
- Policies > Common Objects > Lists > File Extension Lists
- Policies > Common Objects > Lists > File Lists
- Policies > Common Objects > Lists > IP Lists
- Policies > Common Objects > Lists > MAC Lists
- Policies > Common Objects > Lists > Port Lists
- Import the Other files.
- Policies > Common Objects > Other > Contexts
- Policies > Common Objects > Other > Schedules
- Import the Rules.
- Policies > Common Objects > Rules > Firewall Rules
- Policies > Common Objects > Rules > Intrusion Prevention Rules
- Policies > Common Objects > Rules > Integrity Monitoring Rules
- Policies > Common Objects > Rules > Log Inspection Rules
- Import the Lists.
- Import the policy file.
