The amount of data used depends on the agent Operating System (32-bit or 64-bit) and the scan method used (Conventional Scan or Smart Scan).

The following shows the approximate amount of data transferred over the network per client when an upgrade is performed:

This data was collected under the following conditions:

  • The upgrade is from OSCE 11.0 Service Pack 1 Critical Patch build 4150 to OSCE XG Build 1222
  • Conventional and Smart Scan agent upgrades were tested
  • 32-bit and 64-bit Operating Systems were tested

Conventional Scan Agents:

Total Bandwidth Consumed in Megabytes (MB) per client:

  • 32-bit agents - ~194 MB
  • 64-bit agents - ~234 MB

Smart Scan Agents:

Total Bandwidth Consumed in Megabytes (MB) per client:

  • 32-bit agents - ~152 MB
  • 64-bit agents - ~188 MB

Additional information about the amount of data transferred per component is available in the Estimated upgrade size to OSCE XG spreadsheet.
