This issue occurs when the Anti-Malware module is upgraded. A system reboot is required to complete the Anti-Malware module upgrade. Otherwise, the Anti-Malware will malfunction.
In the following Deep Security Agent migration paths, if the Anti-Malware function is enabled, users will see intermittent error and warning alerts being raised by Deep Security Manager.
Upgrade Paths where the errors may appear:
- From Deep Security Agent 9.6 to Deep Security Agent 10.0, 10.1, 10.2, 10.3, or 11.0
- From Deep Security Agent 10.0 to Deep Security Agent 10.1, 10.2, 10.3, or 11.0
- From Deep Security Agent 10.1 to Deep Security Agent 10.2, 10.3, or 11.0
One or more of the following errors may appear after the upgrade:
- Software Update: Anti-Malware Windows Platform Update Failed
- Computer Reboot Required
- Anti-Malware Engine Offline
- Anti-Malware protection is absent or out of date
Some of these errors may disappear after a few minutes without any actions, eventually you may only get a "Computer Reboot Required" warning. This alert is expected due to driver upgrade and you need to take this action to complete the whole DSA upgrade process.
