Subject: Trend Micro™ TippingPoint® End-of-Life (EOL) Policy
Date of Announcement: December 12, 2017
Summary: Trend Micro is committed to providing industry-leading products and services. This means Trend Micro products will continue to evolve with more complex levels of network security capabilities. Trend Micro will periodically announce End-of-Life and Release-to-Manufacturing information for our customers. With this information, customers and partners can make proactive and informed decisions about product migration and version upgrades.
Definitions:
- End-of-Sale or EOS means the date Trend Micro will cease to make a product generally available for purchase or renewal.
- End-of-Life or EOL means the date when standard support services for a product are no longer available.
- Release-to-Manufacturing or RTM means the date Trend Micro will start manufacturing devices with the stated TippingPoint Operating System or TOS.
The End-of-Life process for TippingPoint hardware begins with an End-of-Sale announcement. Trend Micro will exercise commercially reasonable efforts to provide the End-of-Sale announcement six months prior to the End-of-Sale. Trend Micro will support TippingPoint hardware for a minimum of three years following the End-of-Sale, concluding on the End-of-Life. During this period, a supported software release will be available for the hardware and replacement parts will be available to customers with current maintenance contracts in accordance with our Return Materials Authorization (RMA) policy or individual contract terms.
TippingPoint Operating Systems Software:
The End-of-Life process for TippingPoint Operating System (TOS) releases and TippingPoint SMS releases begins with an End-of-Life (EOL) announcement. Trend Micro will exercise commercially reasonable efforts to provide the End-of-Life announcement a minimum of six months prior to the End-of-Life. During this period, Trend Micro will support Generally Available (GA) versions of TOS with bug fixes, workarounds, or maintenance releases. It may be necessary to upgrade to a maintenance release or new version to correct a reported problem.
Maintenance Renewal:
The last date for maintenance contract renewals is two years following the End-of-Sale. Maintenance contracts cannot extend beyond the End-of-Life for hardware or software products.
Release to Manufacturing:
Periodically, Trend Micro will release a TOS to manufacturing. When Trend Micro releases a TippingPoint TOS to manufacturing, both new and refurbished units will be manufactured using the released TOS. Trend Micro will exercise commercially reasonable efforts to provide the Release to Manufacturing announcement of GA TOS releases three months prior to the Release to Manufacturing Date.
The Trend Micro TippingPoint End-of-Life (EOL) Policy provides guidance only and does not represent an obligation beyond the terms of the customers' contracts with Trend Micro.
