Vulnerability Details
This update resolves multiple vulnerabilities in Trend Micro OfficeScan:
- CVE-2018-10358, 10359, 10505: OfficeScan tmwfp Driver Pool Corruption Privilege Escalation vulnerabilities
- CVE-2018-10506: OfficeScan tmwfp Driver Out-Of-Bounds Read Information Disclosure vulnerability
- CVE-2018-10507: OfficeScan "Unauthorized Change Prevention" Bypass vulnerability (requires Admin permissions to exploit)
- CVE-2018-10508: OfficeScan Privilege Escalation via URL vulnerability
- CVE-2018-10509: OfficeScan Browser Refresh vulnerability
Due to the seriousness of these or any vulnerabilities, customers are highly encouraged to update to the latest build as soon as possible.
Mitigating Factors
Exploiting these types of vulnerabilities generally require that an attacker has access (physical or remote) to a vulnerable machine. In addition to timely application of patches and updated solutions, customers are also advised to review remote access to critical systems and ensure policies and perimeter security is up-to-date.
However, even though an exploit may require several specific conditions to be met, Trend Micro strongly encourages customers to update to the latest builds as soon as possible.
