Smart Protection Server patches or hot fixes can be categorized into 3 elements: Operating System, Smart Protection Server, and Widget Components. They can be viewed from Web console > Updates > Program > Program Status. For example:

Program Status

Each Smart Protection Server patch or hot fix package can be decompressed to know which element is going to be updated.

Taking Smart Protection Server 3.3 Critical Patch B1090 as an example, inside the zip, it has tmsss-service-patch-3.3-1003.x86_64.tgz, which means that it will update Smart Protection Server to version 1003. If it’s tmsss-os-patch-3.3-xxxx.x86_64.tgz, then it means that this package will update the Operation System to version xxxx.

The program patch history can be found via Web console > Logs > Update Log using the log filter to check the update history of the Operation System Update / Smart Protection Server update / Widgets Update records.

Update Log

By default, logs are purged after 30 days. If the logs are purged, you might not be able to find the update logs from the web console.

As an alternative option, the update history can also be found by checking log files under /var/tmcss/logs/:

  1. Log on to the SPS command shell.
  2. Switch the path to /var/tmcss/logs.

For each applied patch or hot fix, it will create a log file with the following naming format:

    install.sh.<SPS build number>-<Component+version>.<date>.log

    For example:
