To resolve this issue, the Smart Scan Pattern files inside the activeupdate folder of TMCM/Apex Central must be cleaned. Do the following steps:
- Open services console (services.msc) and stop the following services:
- Trend Micro Control Manager/Apex Central
- Trend Micro Management Infrastructure
- Look for and created a backup of the “server.ini” file, located in the %ProgramFiles%\Control Manager\WebUI\download\activeupdate folder.
- Open the file using a text editor, and then remove the following lines in the [PATTERN] section:
- P.48040107
- P.48040108
- Save and Close file.
- Navigate to %ProgramFiles%\Control Manager\AU_Data\AU_Storage.
- Look for the “AuStorage.ini” file, and create a backup copy.
- Open the AuStorage.ini file with a text editor, and do the following:
- Under the [item_0] line, set the value of "storecount" to 0 (zero)
- Under the [item_1] line, set the value of "storecount" to 0 (zero)
- Delete the following files/folders: Create a backup of the files/folders, before deleting them.
- In the %ProgramFiles%\Control Manager\WebUI\download\activeupdate\pattern folder:
- icrc$tbl.zip
- crcz_xxxxxxxxxx.zip
- Under the %ProgramFiles%\Control Manager\AU_Data\AU_Storage\3\ folder:
- 1208221959
- 1208221960
- In the %ProgramFiles%\Control Manager\WebUI\download\activeupdate\pattern folder:
- Restart the following TMCM/Apex Central services:
- Trend Micro Control Manager/Apex Central
- Trend Micro Management Infrastructure
- Trigger an update for the TMCM/Apex Central components. Follow these steps:
- Login to the TMCM/Apex Central web console.
- Navigate to Administration > Updates > Manual Update.
- Click Download Now. The update may take a few minutes.
- After completing the update, expand the Antivirustab, and verify if the Smart Scan Pattern version has been updated.
