To uninstall the agent using the Diagnostic Toolkit:

  1. Run the WkSupportTool.exe file on the Trend Micro Safe Lock installation directory.
    By default, it is located in C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Trend Micro Safe Lock.
  2. Provide the agent password.
  3. Select [B] Uninstall.
  4. Click Uninstall Software.

If the procedure above fails, manually remove the agent.

  1. Delete the Safe Lock agent files and folders below:
    • C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Safe Lock
    • C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Trend Micro Safe Lock
  2. Delete the following registry entries:
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TrendMicro\SafeLock
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\TrendMicro\SafeLock
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\tmactmon
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\TMBMServer
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\tmcomm
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\tmevtmgr
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\TmLwf
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\TmPfw
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\TMSLService
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\TmWfp
  3. Restart the machine.

If you encounter an error when deleting files, folders, or registry entries, disable the self-protection.

  1. Run the WkSupportTool.exe file on the Trend Micro Safe Lock installation directory.
  2. Select [C] Others.
  3. Click Stop Self-Protection.
  4. Click Close.
