To resolve this issue:

  1. Stop the IS and NS service. Note that "Trend ServerProtect" is the NS service, and the "Trend ServerProtect Agent" is the IS service.
  2. Take all the files from the IS (same server), C:\Program Files\Trend\SProtect\Hotfix\64bit (or 32bit).
  3. Put these files in the NS Folder (same server), C:\Program Files\Trend\SProtect\x64 (or 32 for x86).
  4. Start the NS service, then start the IS service.
  5. Refer to KB 1037945 to manually upgrade the NS Scan Engine.
  6. Manually upgrade the NS Pattern File(s), example: lpt$vpn.xxx and ssaptn.579.
    1. Stop the NS service.
    2. Put files in C:\Program Files\Trend\SProtect\x64 (or 32 for x86).
    3. Reboot the NS service to install the engine. If rebooting is not possible at the moment, a restart of service may suffice.

If for some reason there is an issue copying files from IS folder to NS folder, causing an update failure, follow these steps:

  1. Stop IS and NS Service.
  2. Back up, then delete all directory/files found under C:\Program Files\Trend\SProtect\x64\AC_Up-Rb.tmp\AU_Data\.
  3. Start the NS service, then start the IS service.
