To manually uninstall Apex Central, follow the steps below:
- Remove Apex Central from IIS:
- From the IIS Manager, remove the following websites/folders under "Default Web Site" if they exist:
- ControlManager (folder)
- TVCS (folder)
- TVCSDownload (folder)
- WebApp (website)
- Remove the Application Pool "TMCMApplicationPool" if it exists.
- Remove Port 443 in bindings if it exists.
- Go to Server, and under the "ISAPI and CGI Restrictions" section, remove all entry which has "Trend Micro Control Manager CGI Extensions" in their description.
- From the IIS Manager, remove the following websites/folders under "Default Web Site" if they exist:
- Delete Apex Central services:
- Open Command Prompt with admin privileges.
- Type the following commands:
- sc delete "Trend Micro Apex Central"
- sc delete "Trend Micro Management Infrastructure"
- Remove the Apex Central Database:
In the target database server, make sure that the database "db_ApexCentral" does not exist.
- If the database exists, and it is a generated by a previous failed installation, delete that database instance.
- If the database exists, but it belongs to another Apex Central server, then use a different database instance name upon re-installing Apex Central.
- Delete the following installation Folders:
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Trend Micro\COMMON\TMI
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Trend Micro\Control Manager
- C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Trend Micro Apex Central
- Delete the following registry keys if they exist:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\TMI
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\TrendMicro Infrastructure
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\TrendMicro Infrastructure
- Under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Dependencies\, search for "Trend Micro Apex Central", and delete all folders that contain this key
- Under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\, search for "Apex Central", and delete all folders that contain this key
- Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Dependencies\, search for "Trend Micro Apex Central", and delete all folders that contain this key
- Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Products\, search for " Apex Central", and delete all folders that contain this key
- Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\, search for "Trend Micro Apex Central", and delete all folders that contain this key
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\TrendMicro\TMI
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\TrendMicro\TVCS
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\TMCM
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\TMCM
- Reboot the machine once the steps have been completed.
