To resolve the issue:
- Unblock the hookE12TransportAgent.dll file used in the installation of SMEX transport agent.
- Right-click the hookE12TransportAgent.dll file and check if there is Unblock button.
- Manually install ScanMail SMTP Receive Agent and ScanMail Routing Agent.
- Check if MSExchangeTransport service will crash.

Use "Get-TransportAgent" to check if ScanMail SMTP Receive Agent and ScanMail Routing Agent exist, and check if the issue has been resolved.
Otherwise, proceed with Step 2. There might be another file in SMEX folders which may still be blocked and may influence the behavior of Edgetranspor.exe.
- Run the PowerShell as an administrator and execute the command below.
dir "C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Smex" -Recurse | Unblock-File
Make sure to replace "C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Smex" with the customer's SMEX folder path. - Use "Get-TransportAgent" in Exchange Management Shell to make sure that ScanMail SMTP Receive Agent and ScanMail Routing Agent have been installed.

- Windows Event Logs
- SMEX Debug logs
- System information
