These are the minimum recommended version(s) of the patches and/or builds required to address the issue. Trend Micro highly encourages customers to obtain the latest version of the product if there is a newer one available than the one listed in this bulletin.
Customers are encouraged to visit Trend Micro’s Download Center to obtain prerequisite software (such as Service Packs) before applying any of the solutions above.
* Supplemental Configuration Tool
In addition to Critical Patch 6040 for the on-premise version of OfficeScan XG SP1, a supplemental tool has been created to enhance the security controls of the product and to completely address the vulnerabilities below.This tool is NOT needed for the SaaS version of the product.
Tool Usage
The following steps will walk the administrator through the process of configuring the agent request filtering option into blocking mode.
- Open command prompt as administrator on the OfficeScan server
- Run the following command (with the option): EAFCUA.exe 0
- The required service will be restarted automatically (server reboot is not required).

Improper access control vulnerabilities in Trend Micro OfficeScan XG SP1 could allow an unauthenticated user to obtain information about the server and agents - such as hotfix information, logs and hostname.
CVE-2021-25236: Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) Information Disclosure Vulnerability
CVSSv3: 5.3: AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N
A server-side request forgery information disclosure vulnerability in Trend Micro OfficeScan XG SP1 could allow an unauthenticated user to create a command script to locate online agents and map out network topology a server can communicate with.
Please note: the attacker must know the agent listening port of the managed client in order to exploit this vulnerability.
CVE-2021-25246: Improper Access Control Information Disclosure Vulnerability

An improper access control information disclosure vulnerability in Trend Micro OfficeScan XG SP1 could allow an unauthenticated user to create a bogus agent on an affected server that could be used then make valid configuration queries.
CVE-2021-25248: Out-of-Bounds Read Information Disclosure Vulnerability

An out-of-bounds read information disclosure vulnerability in Trend Micro OfficeScan XG SP1 could allow an attacker to disclose sensitive information about a named pipe.
Please note: an attacker must first obtain the ability to execute low-privileged code on the target system in order to exploit this vulnerability.
CVE-2021-25249: Out-of-Bounds Write Privilege Information Disclosure Vulnerability
CVSSv3: 7.8: AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
An out-of-bounds write privilege information disclosure vulnerability in Trend Micro OfficeScan XG SP1 could allow a local attacker to escalate privileges on affected installations.
Please note: an attacker must first obtain the ability to execute low-privileged code on the target system in order to exploit this vulnerability.
Mitigating Factors
Exploiting these type of vulnerabilities generally require that an attacker has access (physical or remote) to a vulnerable machine. In addition to timely application of patches and updated solutions, customers are also advised to review remote access to critical systems and ensure policies and perimeter security is up-to-date.
However, even though an exploit may require several specific conditions to be met, Trend Micro strongly encourages customers to update to the latest builds as soon as possible.
