Database requirements for Apex One (Mac)

In addition to the existing Server Installation Requirements of Apex One for Mac Plug-in, this article explains the compatible SQL versions for the database.

Below are the possible scenarios:

If the current OfficeScan or Apex One server is already using a SQL database
The Apex One (Mac) database will be created in the existing SQL instance that hosts the OfficeScan or Apex One server database. Therefore, the Apex One (Mac) Plug-in will have the same requirement as the Apex One Server. See Quick migration guide for Trend Micro Apex One™ Sizing Considerations.
If the current OfficeScan or Apex One server is not yet using a SQL database
During the installation of the Apex One (Mac) Plug-in, the installer will also install SQL Express 2016. This behavior cannot be changed, and this database will be used to host the Apex One (Mac) database if OfficeScan or Apex One server is currently using a non-SQL database (e.g. Codebase database).

It is recommended to use a full SQL database when possible.
