To verify, collect agent diagnostic package and check setupapi.dev.log. Look for Sysprep entries such as the following:
>>> [Sysprep Respecialize - {XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX}]
>>> Section start 2021/00/00 00:00:00.000
set: BIOS Release Date: 10/16/2017
set: BIOS Vendor: Amazon EC2
set: BIOS Version: 1.0
set: System Manufacturer: Amazon EC2
set: System Product Name: m5.xlarge
<<< Section end 2021/00/00 00:00:00.000
<<< [Exit status: SUCCESS]
When the host server BIOS changes because of Sysprep, the agent will also generate a new fingerprint which causes it to create new entry in console. The old entry can be safely deleted.
Another solution is to use AWS cloud connector.
