- Make sure that you have a backup of the existing Server or a Snapshot before proceeding with the migration.
- Also make sure that you upgrade the OSCE to Apex One and it has the latest build.
- Deploy and setup a new server that meets the requirements stated in this PDF document .
- Make sure that the new server has connection to the machines which has agents installed as well as to the old server.
- Apex One server installer and the latest patch from the Trend Micro Download Center.
For local languages, make sure to obtain the installation package with same language of your Apex One Server. To get the installation package that matches the language of the Apex One Server, click Region on the upper-right corner of the Trend Micro Download Center page, and select the appropriate Region. The page will be redirected to the Trend Micro Business website, click Download > All Downloads to visit the download center of that region.
- Apex One Build 2012 (Main Server File)
- Apex One Build 9601 (Latest Cumulative Patch as of November 2021, always download the latest patch from the download center)
- Right-click on both of the installers, select Properties and check the "Unblock" option if there's any.
- Proceed to install Apex One server installer then afterward, the latest patch.
- From the Apex One Web Console, go to Help > About and confirm if the build is on Build 9601.
- On old server, log in to the Apex One Web Console, and go to Agents > Agent Management > Settings > Privileges and Other Settings > Other Settings.
- On the drop down list below Security agents only update the following, select Pattern files, engines, drivers.
- Click Apply to All Agents.
- On the new Apex One Server, go to Administration > Settings > Server Migration, and click the Download Apex One Settings Export Tool link.
- Copy the Apex One Settings Export Tool to the old server.
- Double-click ApexOneSettingsExportTool.exe to start the Apex One Settings Export Tool.
- Copy the 3 generated files to your new Apex One server.
- From the Apex One web console, go to Administration > Settings > Server Migration, and click the Import Settings... button.
- Locate the Server_Settings_Migration.zip package, and Import it.
The other 2 files are only used when you have Apex Central.
- Once successful, access the Apex One Web Console > Agents > Agent Management and check if the domains and sub-domains are complete.
- Open the old Web Console > Agents > Agent Management.
- Select the group/domain preferably by batch (10-15 agents at a time) that you want to migrate (You can test one machine first to migrate).
- Right-click on the selection > Manage Agent Tree > Move Agent.
- Choose Move selected agent(s) to another server and input the IP address or Apex One Server FQDN, and for the port input 4343 or 443.
- Click Move and it will then notify the agents.
- It will take a few minutes for the agents to report to the Apex One server. You can check if it has successfully been moved to the Apex One Server by going to the Apex One Web Console > Agents > Agent Management.
- On the Apex One Web Console, and go to Agents > Agent Management.
- Select the group/domain that you want to upgrade (You can test one machine first).
To minimize the impact on the network bandwidth, it is recommended to do the upgrade in batches (10-15 agents at a time).
- Right-click on the selection > Settings > Privileges and Other Settings > Other Settings.
- On the drop-down list below Security agents only update the following, select All components.
- Click Save.
- Continue to do this until all of your agents have been upgraded to Apex One.
- Upgrading your agents will prompt your users for a reboot but will not automatically restart the machine. They may choose to reboot the machine at a later time.
