This issue happens because the following registry entries of the previous installation instance are still present on the Server machine:
- {347b6647-23c5-48f5-9193-65d7c9da5260}
- {B99A3B37-E63F-4CE4-A819-A51F0E53B01E}
To resolve the issue:
Always back up the whole registry before making any modifications. Incorrect changes to the registry can cause serious system problems.
- Open Registry Editor.
- Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\
- Check for and remove the following Registry Keys:
- {347b6647-23c5-48f5-9193-65d7c9da5260}
- {B99A3B37-E63F-4CE4-A819-A51F0E53B01E}
- After removing the above keys, reinstall the Policy Server on the machine.
