To update Apex Central on an offline server, use the Trend Micro Update Tool (TMUT) on a machine with internet access. Follow these steps:

  1. Download the TMUT tool and extract it to a local folder. Extract the package and run the TMUT.exe file as administrator.
  2. Accept the Trend Micro End User Agreement and click OK. Ignore the warning. Click About > Enter a valid AC to activate the tool > OK > Close.
  3. Edit the \config.xml file and change the value of to 'True'. Restart TMUT as administrator.
  4. Install the service by inputting your preferred service name and selecting Install under the Service tab.
  5. If you have a proxy, add the details in the Option tab. If you have no proxy, proceed to the next step.
  6. Add the TMAU server URL in the Server List tab. Enter a name (e.g. APEX), the appropriate URL, and tick the Enable this server checkbox. Click OK.
  7. Select the Option tab and configure the schedule update if needed.
  8. Navigate to the Job Monitor tab and perform an update. After the duplication finishes, you can find the downloaded files in /iau_server.
  9. Choose one of the following scenarios to export the updates: Manual Export, Automatic Report, or Copy and Import.
  10. Set the Apex Central server update source to the shareable folder you configured in the previous step. Go to Administrator > Updates > Manual updates. Click Save. Go to Updates > Manual Update > Select all Components to Update. Click Update. Wait until components are successfully downloaded.
