If you encounter multiple errors with the Anti-Malware Engine in Deep Security, including Reason ID 7, which indicates that the engine is offline due to a driver error, you can take the following steps to resolve the issue:
- Check if the latest Kernel Support Package (KSP) is available for the particular kernel version. If it is, download the latest KSP file and upload it to the DSM local repository.
- If the kernel is not supported, submit a case with Trend Micro to check if support for the kernel version is available.
- Upgrade your DSM to the latest version, as the DSA 20.0.1-3180 requires a minimum version of DSM which is 20.0.883 or later.
To upgrade your DSM, follow these steps:
- Download the latest DSM 20 from the download center link provided by Trend Micro and save it to the target DSM Server.
- Backup your DSM Database.
- Install the DSM Software, and choose upgrade during the install wizard.
- Once the upgrade is complete, open the DSM Console and navigate on each tab to confirm that the DSM upgrade was successful.
- If you have multiple DSM nodes, upgrade all of them.
For future kernel updates, we recommend checking if the kernel is supported on the Trend Micro KSP site before updating the kernel. If the kernel is supported, download the latest KSP file and upload it to the DSM local repository. If the kernel is not supported, submit a case with Trend Micro to check if support for the kernel version is available.
