Problems the Maintenance Wants to Mitigate
Currently, some users are experiencing inconsistencies between the agent status displayed in the Endpoint Inventory App and the actual operational state of the Linux endpoint sensor agents. These discrepancies can lead to unexpected issues in managing endpoints through the Endpoint Inventory App. This maintenance aims to resolve these inconsistencies to ensure accurate and reliable endpoint management.
Impact during maintenance
During the maintenance period, the Linux endpoint sensor agent statuses will be synchronized with the statuses shown in the Endpoint Inventory App. A small number of users may experience a slight increase in bandwidth consumption due to these adjustments. This operation will not impact the day-to-day operations of users. Users will not experience any interruptions or changes in their regular activities due to this maintenance.
Agent Status and Operation
Upon review, we have discovered that some endpoints are in an abnormal status due to unexpected issues during client-side installation. The abnormal status prevents the Endpoint Inventory App from effectively managing these endpoints. The upcoming operation will focus on calibrating these statuses, ensuring that users can manage endpoints with the Endpoint Inventory App.
During the maintenance, the following scenarios will be addressed:
Current Status on Endpoint Inventory App | Mitigation | Details |
---|---|---|
No sensor agent installed / No sensor agent record | Align status with Endpoint Inventory App presentation | Prevent future installation failures resulting from duplicate installations. If a user attempts to install the agent later, this issue could block the installation and cause it to fail. |
Uninstalling | Complete the uninstalling process | The current uninstalling status prevents users from managing the endpoint. Completing the uninstall process will resolve this issue. |
Pre-check or Install Failure | Align status with Endpoint Inventory App presentation | Past installation errors have caused endpoints to be stuck in this status. Synchronizing the statuses will allow users to manage endpoints through the Endpoint Inventory App. |
Updating components | Complete the installation process | The current updating components status prevents users from managing the endpoint. Completing the installation process will resolve this issue. |
