IMPORTANT: Please make sure that you read the release notes associated with the TOS software update package on the TMC. The release notes differentiate between successful and unsuccessful software updates.
 
Hitless TOS Updates: Allow the device to inspect traffic while updating software. Traffic is not inspected during the reboot as the device will go into Layer-2-Fallback (L2FB). Traffic inspection will resume once the system completes the reboot process.

Transparent High Availability (TRHA): Before performing an upgrade, you must disable TRHA. Upgrading a TRHA cluster means breaking down the cluster, upgrading each device individually, and re-establishing the cluster.

Note: If you are installing the TOS update via the LSM, do not close the browser window or navigate away from the Update page while the software is installed.
 
Depending on your download speed, the update process takes approximately 30 minutes. The following table provides a summary of the process with estimated times;
