Procedure:

From the device command line run the command service-access enable

Contact TippingPoint support and provide the device "Serial" and "Salt" numbers generated by the command in step 1..

TAC will provide you a one-time password for you to use with the service account.

If you are already logged into the device with a serial console logout first (…otherwise just duplicate your SSH session).

Log back in to the system with the credentials provided by username of "service" and the account:

Summary

Depending on the issue being addressed, the customer might need to perform commands in service mode. Service mode is only performed with the aid and participation of the TippingPoint Technical Assistance Center (TAC), as a special access password is required to enable service-access mode.

NOTE: Enabling service-access mode requires generating a one-time password, which is good for 60 minutes.
