How To: Common Task

  1. Log in to the SMS from a client.
  2. Navigate to the Profiles > Reputation Database > Activity tab screen.

How To: View Details for Distribution to Device Targets

  1. From the Sync Progress area, select an entry and click Details.
  2. The Sync to Device dialog provides information:
    • Status Details- summary information about the Reputation Database Synchronization/Distribution
    • Target Details- information about target devices associated with the Reputation Database Synchronization/Distribution
  3. Click Close to close the dialog.

How To: Perform a full synchronization

Changes to the Reputation Database are automatically synchronized to devices which have reputation filters active. Full database synchronization is only needed for recovery purposes. To perform a full Reputation Database synchronization to the selected devices:

  1. Navigate to the Profiles > Reputation Database area.
  2. On the top menu bar and select Edit >  Full Sync.
  3. Select the devices and click OK.

How To: Stop a Synchronization

  1. From the Sync Progress table, select an entry and click Stop Sync.

How To: Clear Obsolete Distribution Entries

  1. From the Sync Progress area, click Clear Obsolete to clear the completed entries.

How To: Add/Edit a Reputation Tag Category

  1. Log in to the SMS from a client.
  2. Navigate to the Profiles > Reputation Database > Tag Categories tab screen.
  3. To create a new tag category, click New.
  4. To Edit an existing tag, select a tag from the table and;
    • Click Edit
    • Right-click the selected tag entry and choose Edit.
  5. In the General area, complete the following information:
    • Name: a unique name that identifies the tag category.
    • Type:  type of data (Text, List, Date, Yes/No, Number Range) that the tag category contains. Tag category types cannot be edited.
    • Description: a brief description (up to 255 characters) indicating how the tag category are to be used.
  6. In the Settings area, enter the appropriate information for the type of tag category you selected.
  7. Click OK.

How To: Delete a Reputation Tag Category

  1. Log in to the SMS from a client.
  2. Navigate to the Profiles > Reputation Database > Tag Categories tab screen.
  3. To delete a Tag do one of the following:
    1. Select a tag and click Delete.
    2. Select a tag, right-click the entry and click Delete.
  4. A verification message displays.
 
WARNING: If the tag category you are attempting to delete is currently in use by a reputation filter you should remove the category from that filter prior to deleting the tag category. Failing to do so may cause the distribution of an invalid reputation filter to your devices. If you see the below warning message, click No and configure the reputation filter in question to not use the tag category you are looking to delete.
