Symptoms of Hung Distributions

  • Distribution Queue Delays: Packages remain in the distribution queue longer than expected without progress

Troubleshooting Steps

1. Attempt to Stop Distribution

  • Navigate to the Distribution Queue for the affected device in the SMS client.
  • Locate the package that is currently queued at the top of the list of distributions with a queued status.
  • Select the distribution and click "Delete".

2. Restart SMS Services

  • If stopping distribution is not successful and the distribution stays in the list with a queued status, try restarting the SMS services:
    • Log into the SMS command line via ssh
    • Restart the SMS services with the command "set repos.sms-restart"

3. Contact Support

  • If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it will be necessary to contact Trend Micro support for further assistance. Please provide the following information:
    • Collect the SMS diagnostics from the SMS client. 
    • Collect a Tech Support Report from the TPS device.
