TPS 6.1.0 Release Notes: Local Security Manager (LSM) Removal

Overview

Starting with Threat Operating System (TOS) version 6.1.0, the Local Security Manager (LSM) has been removed from TippingPoint devices. This change was implemented to improve overall system performance and optimize resource utilization.

Details

  • Transition to Security Management System (SMS): Management capabilities previously available through LSM have been transitioned to SMS. As a result, LSM is no longer accessible in TOS 6.1.0 and later versions.
  • Command Line Interface (CLI) Management: If SMS is unavailable, users are encouraged to use the CLI for configuration and management tasks. CLI access remains fully supported.
  • Documentation Reference: The removal of LSM and other enhancements are documented in the official release notes.
