Full Mode vs Performance Mode Availability in Apex Central for Workstations

Overview

The "Full mode" and "Performance mode" options within the "Unauthorized Change Prevention Service" settings are specifically designed and available only for Windows Server endpoints in Apex Central. These modes control how the agent monitors and prevents unauthorized changes on Windows Servers.

Applicability to Workstations

  • These mode options do not apply to Windows workstations.
  • In Apex Central, when managing workstation policies, you will not see "Full mode" or "Performance mode" settings under the Unauthorized Change Prevention Service or elsewhere.
  • This is by design, as the feature set and protection modes for workstations differ from those for servers.

What to Do for Workstations

  • For workstations, configure the Unauthorized Change Prevention Service using the available settings under the workstation policy templates.
  • The service on workstations runs with a default mode optimized for endpoint performance and security without the explicit choice between "Full" or "Performance" modes.
  • For details on configuring workstation policy settings, refer to the Apex One Security Agent Policies documentation.

Summary

If you do not see "Full mode" or "Performance mode" options for workstations in Apex Central, this is expected behavior. These options are exclusive to Windows Server policies and are not configurable for workstation endpoints.

If you require further customization or have concerns about workstation protection levels, consider reviewing the workstation policy settings available in Apex Central or consult Trend Micro support for advanced configuration guidance.

For more information about server policy settings and the availability of these modes, see the Apex One Server Policy Settings guide.
