Worry-Free Services agents can be migrated to TrendAI™ Vision One Endpoint Security Agent (Standard Endpoint Protection) through the Update Worry-Free Agent feature available in the TrendAI™ Vision One for Service Providers (xSP) Endpoint Inventory Module. This capability allows MSP Partners to transition endpoint management into the Vision One platform seamlessly.

Security services and features released in this Preview for selected partners/customers allows early engagement testing with the Product Development.Previews give partners/customers an opportunity to gain experience and provide feedback prior to the official release.

Requirements

  • Already upgraded to TrendAI™ Vision One for Service Providers (xSP) with the following modules:
    • Licensing Management Platform (LMP)
    • Remote Manager (RM)
  • Managed customers with Worry-Free Services Standard license. (Support for other license types will be available in future releases)
  • Managed customers have the TrendAI Vision One™ console provisioned.
  • TrendAI™ Vision One for Service Providers (xSP) logged-in user has Master Administrator role or a custom role with the "Update Worry-Free agents" permission enabled.
  • Target Endpoints in the TrendAI™ Vision One for Service Providers (xSP) Endpoint Inventory has a Worry-Free Services agent installed.

  • This feature is currently available only in the TrendAI™ Vision One for Service Providers (xSP) Endpoint Inventory, and not in the TrendAI™ Vision One Endpoint Inventory.
  • Worry-Free Business Security On-Premise is not supported by this feature.

  • The Worry-Free Services Security Agent must be online and upgraded to Windows Agent version 6.7.4082 or later.
  • Endpoint Basecamp must be installed alongside the Worry-Free Services Security Agent, and the endpoint must be present in the V1xSP Endpoint Inventory.
  • Migration is currently supported only on Windows operating systems. Both Windows Server and Windows Desktop must meet the official system requirements. See Standard Endpoint Protection system requirements | TrendAI™ for more details.

Migration

No, it is a Permanent Update: Once the update begins, the process cannot be paused or reversed. The Worry-Free agent will be automatically removed and replaced with the new TrendAI Vision One™ Endpoint Security agent.

  1. Login to V1xSP web console and Provision a TrendAI Vision One on the target Company (Skip this step if Vision One has already been provisioned on the target Customer).
    1. Under V1xSP web console → Customer Overview → Select the target customer and click Provision.

    2. Once Vision One provisioning has been completed, the Worry-Free agents under the Company will install Endpoint Basecamp in the background.
  2. Update Worry-Free agent to Vision One Endpoint Security Agent:
    1. Under V1xSP web console → Security Solutions → Endpoint Inventory → Endpoints → Select the Target Company.

    2. Select target endpoint/s and click Update Worry-Free agent.

    3. Update Notice appears when using the Worry-Free Update feature the first time on a target Company. Select Accept to acknowledge and proceed with the update.

    4. A prompt will be displayed to Create Standard Endpoint Protection instance (This step will be skipped if a Standard Endpoint Protection instance has already been provisioned on the target Customer). Specify the instance Display Name, Region and Description (Optional) and click Create once done.

      • A minimum of one SEP instance must exist in order to execute the Worry-Free agents update process.
      • The SEP instance provisioning process may take approximately 20 minutes to complete.
      • Under V1xSP web console → Bell icon → Tasks, it will show the provision task status if successful:

        If the provisioning failed, it would show the following:

      1. Setup Endpoint Policy Resources:

        Configure Scan Exclusions, Firewall rules, Application Control Rules under V1xSP web console → Templates → Endpoint Policy Resources. For more details, refer to Policy Resources | TrendAI™.

      2. Setup Endpoint Policy Settings:
        • Go to Endpoint Policy Settings under V1xSP web console → Templates → Endpoint Policy Settings and create a new policy.
        • Name the policy and enable required features.
        • Configure security modules and save the settings.
          For more details, refer to Getting started with Endpoint Policy Settings | TrendAI™.
      3. Apply Endpoint Policy Settings to a Template:
        Under V1xSP web console → Templates → Endpoint Policy Templates → create or edit a template to specify an Endpoint Policy. For more details, refer to Configure an endpoint policy template | TrendAI™.
      4. Under V1xSP web console → Security Solutions → Endpoint Inventory → Groups → Standard Endpoint Protection → Select the created SEP Instance.
      5. Select the Groups that requires it and click Apply Endpoint Policy Templates.
      6. Select an Endpoint Policy Template and click Assign.
       
      • It is recommended to create dedicated endpoint groups for the Worry-Free agent update feature if specific policies will be applied to the updated endpoints.
      • To create a group, select the three dots icon beside the target group and click Create a group and assign it to the appropriate group required.

      • Policy assignment and policy settings must be verified before performing the Worry-Free agent update.

    5. Once Trend Vision One has been provisioned, select target Worry-Free Endpoints and click Update Worry-Free agent button.

    6. Select a target endpoint group.

      The system will uninstall the Worry-Free agent, install the Standard Endpoint Protection agent in the background, and place the endpoint into the selected group.

    7. Once an endpoint group is selected, the corresponding Endpoint security policy assignment name for the target group will be shown.

    8. Click Update to proceed.

The "Update Worry-Free agent" process may take around 20-30 minutes to complete on the endpoint. If the agent is offline, the update process starts once the agent reconnects.

No, a reboot is not required.

Under V1xSP web console → Endpoint Inventory → Endpoints, an action card will be displayed if migration fails and will guide the user how to resolve the issue. Depending on the situation, further assistance from support may be required.

Limitations

The Update Worry-Free Agent feature can be applied only to selected endpoints within the same company.

At the same time, other endpoints are selected on another Company. The Update Worry-Free Agent option will be grayed out showing "You can only apply this action to selected endpoints from the same company".

During the migration process, no logs from Worry-Free Services are transferred to Standard Endpoint Protection Instance.

The Update Worry-Free Agent feature supports up to 200 endpoints per request.
