Deep Security Rule Update (DSRU) requires a valid and active license for both the Firewall and Intrusion Prevention (IPS) features to download and apply successfully. If either license is expired, inactive, or not applied, the DSRU package will not be downloaded or updated.
To resolve this issue, ensure that the Firewall and Intrusion Prevention licenses are active by following the steps below.
Verify the Current DSRU Version
1. Log in to the Deep Security Manager (DSM) console.
2. Navigate to Administration > Updates > Security > Rules.
3. Check the version of the currently applied DSRU, indicated by the green checkmark in the Applied column.
Check the License Status for Firewall and Intrusion Prevention
1. Navigate to Administration > Licenses.
2. Confirm that the following module licenses are active and not expired:
- Firewall
- Intrusion Prevention (IPS)
3. If either license is expired or inactive, contact your Trend Micro Sales Representative or Reseller to renew or reactivate the license.
Retry the Security Update
1. Once a valid license is confirmed, navigate to Administration > Updates > Security.
2. Click Check for Updates or Download Updates Now.
3. Once the update completes, navigate back to Administration > Updates > Security > Rules and confirm that the DSRU version has been updated.
