On March 31, 2026, the syslog vendor field in SWP was changed from Trend Micro to TrendAI™ as part of the efforts around TrendAI’s recent rebranding effort.
This had the unintended consequence of affecting syslog integrations (including LEEF, CEF, etc.) for customers relying on pattern-matching against the vendor name field.
Due to the impact that changes such as this have on machine-parseable log fields, TrendAI reverted the syslog fields back to the original Trend Micro name on April 27, 2026.
There is no action required for SWP customers that did not modify their current integrations to the updated name. However, customers that may have updated their configuration to reflect the new name may need to transition back to the original one to maintain log ingestion, and TrendAI Customer Success representatives stand ready to assist customers who may need some guidance with this.
