By default, the scanning process checks the digital signature in IPC. Upon checking the ofcdebug log, it shows that the signature verification failed, thus, the error occurs.

To resolve the issue, disable this feature:

  1. Stop the OfficeScan Master Service.
  2. Back up and edit the ofcscan.ini file under PCCSRV directory.
  3. Add "CheckDigitalSignatureForUpgrade=0" in the Global settings section.
  4. On the OfficeScan web console, go to Agents > Global Agent Settings.
  5. Click Save to deploy the global settings to the OfficeScan agent.
  6. Go to the OSCE agent side (Terminal server) and update it.
  7. Check if the following registry is present in the OSCE agent:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\TrendMicro\PC-cillinNTCorp\CurrentVersion\Misc.
    key: CheckDigitalSignatureForUpgrade
    value: 0

  8. Wait for five (5) minutes and verify again.

If the issue still persists, collect the following and send to Trend Micro Technical Support:

  • ofcdebug.log
  • Case Diagnostic Tool logs
  • Pccnt.exe
  • Pccntmon.exe
